change your GRIND - what does this mean?
Changing your grind is all about creating a shift in your mindset. Today, Chris and I heavily grind on a daily basis for other people simply for a paycheck. We once had passion for our careers, but we are near the end. A paycheck is important, but so is the next chapter of our lives as empty nesters. We did not save the "million" that mainstream media preaches to us that is "required" to retire. In fact, we have not saved much at all if the "million" was the goal. Instead, we have lived a good life while raising our kids not focusing on a budget. Giving them experiences that we didn't get as kids growing up in the 70s & 80s. We have traveled all over the states and some international travel and love camping and exploring the outdoors. We have lived in five different states and do not regret any of our moves. However, now we need to change our grind. We want to retire debt free, sooner than later. We know a lot of GenXers are at the same crossroads as we are and we even see the younger generations already starting to change their grind.
So, what does this mean... change your GRIND? We are in the process of shifting our approach to life and our end goals so that we can live a more intentional life, for us and not anyone else. Off grid is not easy. It will be a hard daily grind. This will require us to change our mindset and thought process. We will still be grinding hard but doing it solely for ourselves and our kids / grandkids. We are tired of working hard for our paychecks. We now want to work for our future which is our off-grid homestead. We are prioritizing our lifestyle over routine and focusing on the why in our next chapter. Life is short. We think that everyone should reevaluate their grind and make the change, however it looks for you.
This approach applies to several situations, not just the off-grid life. Regardless of your grind, make it intentional, for you and only you!!
